PAX 2009 Panel: Medium is the: Story Matters
I went to PAX 2009 and was lucky enough to sit through this sweet panel which talks about why story matters and different ways to tell the story in video games. I really happy to see this on the web because this is good stuff to learn from if your going into this field.
LOTRO now FTP
Turbine announced that they were going to move to a free to play method of gaming with Lord of the Rings Online(LOTRO) following its younger brother DDO(Dungeons and Dragons Online) A few months back. and Now at PAX Prime they released a trailer for FTP and on their site they have a free section that gives details on FTP and a small ad to the right saying its yours - free September 10th. Oh wait thats tomorrow, Awesome sauce I know what I'm doing tomorrow.
From what they have on their Free to play section on their site, you'll have three account types. of course theirs the free account, with lots of limits and restrictions were you can pay to have those removed. then theirs the Premium Account type, this one still has some restrictions but less and even has some things not restricted where the free one does. And last theirs the VIP account which has no restrictions other than getting more player slots and wardrobe slots. To get the Premium account all you have to do is purchase Turbine points and your upgraded. And VIP is a Monthly fee account, I'm not seeing a price on the webpage but I'm going to guess its $30 a month.
**Update**
I just checked my Email and found a newsletter from Turbine about LOTRO going FTP. And in the letter it says I'm a premium player because I had a previous account. so so if you've played LOTRO then you're most likely a Premium player. and If you bought the life time membership when the game first came out then you are an VIP (from what I've read).

PAX 2010: Bungie Panel
This will most likely be Bungie's last Panel that is about Halo, Tear. And Thanks to G4 we'll be able to watch their last panel. I still would like to have been there though and and go get the rest of the Bungie crews autographs.

Welcome to Reach
Bungie Released two video's on their newest update at Bungie.net. And some other things were mentioned too like PAX Prime, a behind the scene's disc for the Legendary copy (Sweet, that's the one I'm getting), and something about pre-launch players but we don't need to worry about them unless your one then you should read the update.
The first video is Headhunter (a new game type for Halo) on Boardwalk
The Second video is Swat (no shields) on Countdown
See you guys at the Launch Party
